“Rumors of the Book Festival’s death have been greatly exaggerated. The
community won’t let it die.” says Maureen Jennings, former Festival
director and steering committee member. “A group of passionate and
dedicated volunteers are already working on how to present the best
festival possible in today’s tough times. 2009 may see a new,
streamlined Book Festival, but we will still give book lovers a day
